Fireside Chat with Guido Palazzo, author of “The Dark Pattern: The hidden dynamics of corporate scandals” – September 24, 2025

Before the summer break descends upon us, we wanted to take the opportunity to invite you to attend the next Library oi Mistakes event, a fireside chat with Guido Palazzo, author of a new book entitled The Dark Pattern: The hidden dynamics of corporate scandals.  Guido serves as Professor of Business Ethics at the University of Lausanne.  He studied business administration at the Philipps University of Bamberg and received his doctorate in political philosophy from the University of Marburg.  In his research he focuses (among others) on unethical behavior in organizations. He is one of the most cited business ethicists in the world.  Guido has trained leadership teams and boards of directors of numerous companies in Europe, Asia and the USA in ethics. He has worked with the top leadership teams of companies such as Audi, Boehringer, Ely Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Ericsson, Allianz, Volvo Cars, Globalfoundries, Biontech, and Medtronic. He has also led a leadership program for senior officials (vice ministers) of the Chinese Communist Party.

Among other things the book reveals that even though corporate scandals are often narrated like Hollywood movies most “bad things” are done by average people with honorable values and no bad intentions.  We think Professor Palazzo’s book is extremely interesting and timely and we highly recommend that you attend this event.

This event will be all the more special as the fireside chat will be moderated by someone you know well – Jared Bibler, author of Iceland’s Secret, a great friend of our Library and one of our first presenters.

The fireside chat will take place at our Library in Lausanne, Rue du Grand-Pont 12, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 18:00.  We will have free copies of Guido’s book available to all attendees.

Please reserve your participation by replying to this email as the number of seats at the Library is limited.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at the Library of Mistakes, Lausanne

Kind regards,
The Keeper
